How to calculate my BMI?

  1. Weight - Using a scale, measure your body weight write down the value. For example, 181 lbs.
  2. Convert your weight to kg - Using a calculator, convert your weight from pounds to kilograms by dividing the value by 2.205. For example, 181 ÷ 2.205 = 82.10 kg.
  3. Height - Using a tape measure, measure your height and write down the value. For example, 71 inches.
  4. Convert your height to meters - Using a calculator, convert your height from inches to meters by dividing the value by 39.97. For example, 71 ÷ 39.97 = 1.8 meters.
  5. Squared height - Using a calculator, calculate your squared height in meters and write down the value. The easiest way is by multiplying your height by itself. For example, 1.80 x 1.80 = 3.24.
  6. BMI result - Using a calculator, divide your weight in kg by your squared height in meters. For example, 82.1 ÷ 3.24 = 25.32.
  7. BMI chart - Check the BMI Chart to know if you are underweight, in a healthy weight or overweight. For example, BMI 25.32 means the person is overweight.
